I started writing creatively over a decade ago, but work and a busy family life soaked up most of my time. More recently I've been able to reclaim some time, so whenever I can, I sit with my laptop and write. I'm an early bird, so writing usually takes place at the crack of dawn. It's just me and the birds. It's absolute bliss!
I'm a Mancunian by birth and I absolutely love Manchester, but I currently live with my family in St Annes-on-sea, a beautiful Victorian garden town on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire.
The beach is spectacular and stretches for miles. It's a wonderful place to go to find peace of mind, to connect with nature and to soak up inspiration.

St Annes is fast-becoming a hive of creativity, along with neighbouring Blackpool which has a vibrant artistic community.
Most of our immediate family live in the North of England, in St Annes on sea, Blackpool or Leeds. However we also have close family in London and the South. My in-laws and many extended family live on the beautiful island of Carriacou in the West Indies. Hopefully, when we retire fully, we'll be able to spend more time there and I'll be

I've worked in PR & Communications for most of my career, mainly working in architectural, contract furnishings, health and creative industries. I love the work and over the years it has introduced me to lots of richly layered characters and wonderfully interesting places that have triggered my imagination.

Although I'm semi-retired now, I do keep my hand in on the PR front with a few ongoing projects for long-standing clients.
Love me, love my dog! My dog Bailey was my world. Sadly we had to say goodbye to her in November. She came into our lives when we most needed her, and she became an integral part of our pack. She helped us massively through some bad times, and she made the good times even better. She was fiercely protective and like all boxers, she was full of fun and naughtiness!
Forever loved.
After eight months of a tidy, quiet and slobber-free house, we could stand it no longer! Bailey had left a massive boxer-shaped hole in our lives, so we decided to invite a rescue boxer into our lives! Molly hadn't had a great start to her life. She was desperate to find a family who could offer her a loving home. We were delighted when the rescue centre telephoned to say we'd been selected!
Over 40 years ago, I studied Fine Art at college. I loved it but was persuaded to study for a BA (Hons) in Design for Communication Media. Career-wise it was good advice because I went on to enjoy a career in Communications and studied for an MA in Public Relations. But I missed being creative so I am now slowly trying to get my painting and drawing skills up to scratch.
Writing means a lot to me, whether it's producing my own work or the appreciation of another author's creation. Putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, requires a lot of discipline and energy and it's wonderful when a writer can move the reader emotionally by simply using words. I particularly enjoy reading powerful and inspired novels and autobiographies from ethnically diverse cultures.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2019, and undergoing extensive treatment, I wanted to put my experience to good use. So, I now volunteer as a Public Health speaker for the wonderful charity Breast Cancer Now. When requested, I present online talks to organisations, and I also represent Breast Cancer Now at educational and fundraising events to raise awareness of the charity.
